Whoever had led me to believe that My Beautiful Laundrette ends badly? I'm glad I misunderstood! I'm dazzled.

(And Daniel Day-Lewis is even cooler than I had previously thought.)

I can't think of anything to write about Once without having to think about it too much, at which point I will probably break down crying. This is one of the best films I've seen in ages, and the soundtrack is simply astounding. I'm going to buy it at the soonest convenience. I do, obviously, plan to think about it. Eventually.

Because, you know, spend the day finishing off and editing an emotionally taxing piece of writing and you're on shaky ground to begin with, but ( oh my God, you have to watch this video. )

Is it true that we're not supposed to be able to read in our dreams? I'm astonished to discover this, because I've been able to read text in my dreams - wherever it may appear - since I first learned to read. This week, I've been listening to Patti Smith's Horses. The album had been on sale for £3.99 at work for weeks, and there was one particular copy on the bargain CD rack just mocking me.
